Sunday 27 June: 'Eco-house' Open Day (and allotments)
As part of the Sevenoaks Festival, Transition Town Sevenoaks has arranged for seven locations, in and near to Sevenoaks, with eco friendly features to open their doors to the public so that they can have the opportunity to learn from the experiences of people who have taken action to reduce their carbon footprints. That ranges from installing state of the art biomass boilers or photovoltaic systems for electricity, to growing their own food and keeping chickens. Technologies featured also include solar thermal systems for heating water, suntubes & log stoves.
Details of the sites, their eco friendly features, visiting times and advice on the latest government initiatives to subsidize take-up of some of these are now available from the Stag Theatre. Tickets cost £5 which give access to all these sites, including the Sevenoaks Allotments which has an open day on 27th June. Note that visiting times do vary
We are planning more besides, such as a talk on fossil fuel dependency, and a film showing. Please CONTACT US if you have ideas for events or would like to take part: e-mail transition@7oaks.net
